Mobile Library

Please note that our Mobile Library Lizard time is 10am – 10.25am on Wednesday 20th July 2022

The mobile library provides a library service to rural areas in Cornwall where there is no static library or micro library. The mobile library continues to run during this current lock down, and in line with Government guidelines, we are welcoming you at the door.
Please follow Government guidelines whilst waiting/queuing for the mobile library.
We are operating a click and collect service. This means that you should order your books online by browsing the online library catalogue and make your selection. You will be notified once they are ready for collection. Please note that your reserved items will then be ready for collection at your next regular mobile library stop. You can also return items.
If you are unable to access the internet to reserve your books online please talk to the Mobile Library team. They will aim to provide you with a ‘quick selection’.
We have continued to increase our list of eBooks and eAudio books. These are FREE for Cornwall Library members so that you can read a wide range of books without leaving home. Downloading is easy, just follow our instructions on Borrow Box.

The Lizard Chapel

Messy Church on 5th June held on the Green was well attended. Thank you to Hill's shop for providing us with power, to the Amiss family for the gazebo and to Rev. Diane for taking the Service. Crowns were decorated by all and there were colouring pictures and word searches for the young people. Well done Sandy for being dressed as the Queen on her coronation day.

Unfortunately the Chapel Anniversary 'Songs of Praise' was not so well attended! A great pity as Tom Reed, a young man of only 18, led us in singing 8 rousing hymns and supper followed, so a really good evening. Two young ladies from Spain and also a couple of holiday makers from
Harrogate enjoyed the service with the Chapel members and a time of fellowship after. Please I urge any who are interested in keeping our lovely Chapel open to try to support it where they can.

The next evening service will be on 24th July at 7-00pm and will be a 'Sing Sankey' evening. This again will be a chance for a good sing and if you have a favourite rousing chorus hymn you would like to be included, please get in touch.

The Services for July are as follows:
3rd July MESSY CHURCH. This is a time of fun, activities and worship for ALL ages and noise is welcome. Please do not worry about your little ones not being able to sit still, let them roam! It is MESSY in all its forms!
10th July led by Mr Julian Waring
17th July led by Rev Bev Turner
24th July led by Mrs Janet Hearn
31st July a 'Do it Yourself Service' and Flower Festival.
All start at 11-00am and last approx an hour with coffee following.

We hope to be serving Cream Teas on Thursdays during July and August so please keep an eye open for posters around the village and support us if you are able.
Payment is by donation - whatever you can give.
